BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS and ARLESHEIM, SWITZERLAND - August 29, 2023 – QuEra Computing, the leader in neutral-atom quantum computers, and QAI Ventures, a quantum-focused VC fund and startup accelerator, today announced a partnership to provide early-stage companies with access to QuEra’s quantum computer, the world’s largest publicly-accessible quantum computer. In addition to access to QuEra’s quantum technology, startups in QAI Ventures’ accelerator program can also engage directly with QuEra’s world-class scientists and engineers to receive unmatched expertise and experience, thus helping them accelerate their ideas and businesses.

QAI Ventures has developed a comprehensive accelerator program that is embedded in the ecosystem of QuantumBasel, Switzerland’s first quantum hub for commercial use. The goal of the program, which started in July of this year, is to support quantum startups all over the world in taking their projects to the next level. QAI Ventures' initial cohort of startups includes Anaqor, Kipu Quantum, Miraex, Moonlight AI and qdc. As part of the accelerator program, each company is provided with 100,000 Swiss francs and an equal amount of services, including access to state-of-the-art quantum hardware and services, connection to QAI Ventures corporate and academic partners, and shared desks at QuantumBasel.

As a key partner to QAI Ventures and its portfolio companies, QuEra is providing premium access to its quantum computer built on large-scale arrays of neutral atoms. QuEra currently offers users up to 256 qubits on its Aquila-class machines and is working to scale to much higher numbers. QuEra’s designs feature a unique combination of system size, coherence, and an innovative analog quantum processing mode that provides new ways to solve machine learning, optimization, and simulation problems. Furthermore, Aquila machines offer the added benefit of its FPQA™ technology, a field-programmable qubit array that provides flexible reconfiguration of its qubit positioning, comparable to designing a new chip layout for each computation. The hardware is complemented by Bloqade™, an open-source software package that assists with expressing and testing problems in this new way.

In addition to access to its quantum computers, services QuEra is offering through QAI Ventures’ accelerator program include:

  • Custom training on QuEra devices led by QuEra’s expert instructors.
  • Consulting time with QuEra’s scientists to determine if a problem is a good fit for QuEra quantum computers and, if so, how to best implement it.
  • Analytics dashboard on which companies can define users and projects and assign budgets to each.
“We are delighted to partner with QAI Ventures to help accelerate responsible innovation in quantum computing. By providing QAI’s startups with premium access to our Aquila-class machines and the expertise of our world-class scientists and engineers, we are empowering the next generation of quantum innovators. We look forward to extending this powerful partnership forged with QAI Ventures to other quantum accelerators worldwide, ensuring that quantum technology reaches its full potential,” said Yuval Boger, Chief Marketing Officer, QuEra Computing.
“In QuEra, we found a partner who shares our vision of building quantum technology through mutual enablement and leveraging the ecosystem players with the same values. QuEra built solid and robust collaborations with our quantum startups from day one, and we are excited to strengthen our cooperation moving forward,” said Alexandra Beckstein, CEO and co-founder, QAI Ventures.
