Event Aims to Expand Access to Neutral-Atom Quantum Computing Through Design

Boston, MA – January 23, 2025 – QuEra Computing, the leader in neutral-atom quantum computing,  today introduced Quantum Creators Con, a first-of-its-kind competition that brings together STEM students with expertise in quantum computing or related fields and creative students skilled in digital media. The goal of the competition is to drive collaboration to create compelling content about neutral-atom quantum computing and to make the field more accessible and inspiring to new and diverse talent. The week-long event will culminate in a live showcase on February 9, 2025, at the Wang Pavilion at Columbia University.

Quantum Creators Con is designed to broaden participation in quantum computing by leveraging the power of creative storytelling. While quantum computing is often introduced through technical training, this event explores a different approach—engaging creatives as communicators and educators to improve public understanding of neutral-atom quantum computing. The initiative also serves as an entry point for underrepresented groups in the field, helping bridge the gap between science, technology, and digital media.

“Quantum computing has the potential to revolutionize virtually every industry, but for that to happen, we need more than just scientists—we need storytellers, designers, and visionaries who can translate its possibilities to the world,” said Pedro Lopes, Quantum Advocate at QuEra, “Quantum Creators Con is about breaking barriers, bringing new voices into the field, and making neutral-atom quantum computing accessible to all.

To help support this important initiative, QuEra has partnered with The UK Government’s Global Talent Network- a program designed to attract international talent to the UK, particularly in science and technology, including quantum The partnership between QuEra and The UK Government’s Global Talent Network reinforces the shared commitment to global collaboration and workforce development in quantum computing and related industries.
